The Canon PIXMA MegaTank models can accommodate large ink bottles with 135ml/70ml ink in each different bottle. You can print thousands of pages before it is required to replace an ink bottle. The printers can print up to 6,000 pages with black ink and 7,700 pages with colour inks. By choosing the ‘Economy printing mode’, it is possible to further increase page yield and print up to 7,600 pages with black ink. They are as efficient as Canon ink cartridges but last much longer!

The Epson Compatible ink refills have proven reliable in terms of the refill procedure and the stability of the ink remaining in the bottle until the next refill. There is no spillage from the bottle tip when the plastic membrane is pierced when the bottle is upended at the printer's filling point and the screw cap prevents any drying out of the tip. The colours are true to their description.
I have bought from Ink Depot before and they were really good, so I used them again. Canon ink generally has a shelf life of 24 months when the seal is unopened and stored in optimal conditions, but opened bottles of ink tend to dry up faster.
Canon ink bottles can be refilled with third-party refill kits that come with instructions on how to do it. The process can be messy but it might also save more. For best results, refill your ink tanks with Canon refill bottles sold as separate units or multi packs at discounted prices.
